THE KEY POINTS
1- An elaborate process:
Born out of an encounter between an archer and smith, the WILDSTEER knife is the result of several years of research and development.
Each part has been studied to satisfy the particular demands of each precise use.
Its excellent strength, and especially the "tanto" point can withstand considerable efforts of torsion and heavy blows...
The thickness of the blade is 4,5 mm at the tip ( just before the cutting edge ) and 7,5 under the champfering notch.
Its excellent balance gives the knife just the right inertia for energetic cutting (slashing, pruning ...)
2- The choice of steel:
The steel selected is a self-quenching stainless steel with easy maintenance, Z50CD13=X50CrMoV13 (DIN 1.4116) which has a light molybdenum content thus improving its resistance.
3- CAD study and sharpening:
A C.A.D. study (Computer Assisted Design) has allowed optimal sharpening and cutting edges. Depending on the zone used , the sharpening angles vary from 15 to 25°, considering that an angle of 25° is less sharp than an angle of 15° but less resistant.
