Choosing the right knife

At the beginning of every week, I present a brand that I especially like.

Wildsteer testimonyA French brand - which makes it even more of a pleasure - that I have been carrying around with me for several years now. The name is @wildsteer_knives and today this French knife manufacturer ranks alongside the leading American and Italian cutlery makers.

The company offers a level of quality and finish that is closer to custom rather than industrial production. It began by making knives designed for archers and today it equips a huge number of the French army's special units.

The knife that follows me whatever the adventure is the Wild TECH 2 (replaced by the Wild TECH 4). The great advantage of this knife is that it never budges whatever I ask it to do.

Sandvik rust-proof steel gives it a cutting edge that lasts and makes it a versatile tool.

I'm not usually a fan of paracord handles but with the size of the knife, you quickly get used to this and the grip is excellent (not to mention the extra cord available; those who do courses @pgadventure with us know how precious that can be). The criticism that I often make about this type of knife is the lack of guard, which is more of a personal thing because a guard makes me feel safe when handling a knife. This weakness has been rectified in the Wild TECH 4 version.

It's been through every type of climate from jungle to desert and for the moment has survived admirably.

This is a brand that I have rarely had the opportunity to discover through other products but I hope to put that right very quickly when choosing an even more versatile camping knife.
I have no doubt that quality will not be lacking and, once again, let's promote French industry!
